About The Headline Challenge

The Headline Challenge is set by former editor of the Northern Echo Peter Barron.  

As and when there’s a quirky often funny story in the news Peter shares via Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.  The challenge is for the public to beat Peter’s own headline for the story. Additional points are awarded if the headline is also a film, play, book or song.  The new totaliser provides a league table of the scores. There are no actual prizes just the fun and mental workout of competing are reward enough.
